How I Dodged a $559 Photo Bill With AI Prompting Power
What Do You Do When a Photographer Charges $559? I Prompted My Way Out
"Constraints breed creativity."— Marissa Mayer (former CEO of Yahoo)
Mate, I’ve got a wild story for you.
I replaced a $559 photographer with AI technology and achieved professional results. This may appear implausible to skeptics; however, with the appropriate tools and proficient prompting techniques, I shall demonstrate that it is indeed feasible.
Ever since I launched my prompting course and, after fumbling around with amateur promotional skills for months, I started to realise something significant: the way you communicate with machines, through prompts, is everything. And I mean everything.
Before we begin, true story: I took the initiative to get my product photo featured on Amazon. Check them out here. → Amazon 🛒 and Snuggle Accessories
Before that occurred, the photographer I contacted sent me an invoice for $559 — that's right, just for one hour of photography. I was like, “Yeah, nah... I’ll figure something out myself.”
I remained sceptical. Nonetheless, I aimed for the product to have a polished appearance, rather than settling for just “good enough.”
I believe in starting well whenever possible, instead of releasing something incomplete and addressing issues later.
However, there’s merit to the old adage — if you launch flawlessly, you probably launched too late. I swallowed that hard pill and went my way.
After a day or so, I put it out there anyway. Iteration became my guiding philosophy — just enough to make peace with my scrappy product photo.
Something wasn't right, I know, still didn't give an F* to it.
Of course, the feedback came rolling in:
“Oi, sort out your product photo.”
It's typical. Everybody has advice — even those who have never launched anything suddenly feel like they’re experienced Amazon FBA experts. However, I wasn’t too bothered. Confident in the belt.
The product was solid and already in demand.
The ugly photo was just my temporary scar, not the end of the road.
Then something changed everything.
Openai dropped a new image generation model — a complete game changer for creators and everyone embracing the creative economy.
Just like that, my worries about the product photo were over.
No expensive shoot. No dodgy DIY pics. Just powerful prompting.
My prompt became the shortcut to a professional-looking product photo.
While the photographs are emotionally appealing, the product itself surpasses the imagery. Try them and see for yourself. Here is the link once more. Snuggle Doonas 🛒
❓ So, what’s prompting anyway?
Prompt engineering is basically how you “talk” to AI to get it to do what you want, whether that’s writing content, solving problems, or creating art.
Think of it like learning to speak machine language, but in plain text.
If books gave us access to human knowledge, prompting unlocks the knowledge base of AI.
AI’s creeping into every part of life — how we work, learn, play, and even our relationships.
And those who can speak its language? They’ll lead this new world we’re all stepping into.
And honestly, the only limiting factor is our imaginary power.
I didn’t fully grasp what tools like DeepSeek, Grok, or Clause, just to name a few, could do until I took the time to really get into them and explore.
Oh — quick side note: Dwellpro.org is powered entirely by AI and machine learning.
The goal is simple- solving the little digital frustrations we all face every day.
Yes. Ever felt that satisfying moment when AI “gets” you? Or the sheer frustration when it doesn’t? That’s the emotional dance we’ve started with machines.
Prompting is how we talk to the mind of AI.
If AI were a person:
Brain = The algorithms
Heart = Ethics and values
Voice = Prompting — it’s how it “hears” you. And takes actions
5 Core Features & Massive Benefits of Prompting
1. It’s the Bridge Between Humans and AI
Just like reading and writing help us share ideas, prompting helps us direct AI to generate useful stuff — content, designs, answers, whatever you need.
The better your prompts, the better the results.
2. It’s a Must-Have Skill for the Future
Whether you’re a student, tradie, or CEO, prompting is a future-proof skill.
Need a business plan? A logo? A social media caption? Prompting gets you there faster and smarter.
Good prompting = a time saver
Bad prompting = a time-waster
3. It’s Not Just About Instructions — It’s Critical Thinking
The best prompts rely on:
Clarity – Ditch the vague fluff
Context – Give AI the right background information
Creativity – Tweak and refine like you would a good draft
It’s like writing a great essay or asking the right research question — same logic, new tools.
4. It Levels the Playing Field
You don’t have to be a tech wizard anymore.
Just know how to write a good prompt.
“Make a logo” = Meh.
“Minimalist doona brand logo with soft pastels and a moon/cloud vibe” = Bang on.
Reminds me of a yarn with an old boss of mine.
He saw me mucking around with a forklift and said:
“Use the bloody tool properly, mate.
I was dearly wasting the bloody time and not using the tools full potential.”
It stuck with me, and it applies just as much to AI. We have tools that we rarely use or maximise their potential.
5. Schools and Workplaces Are Already Catching On
The truth is, I’m quietly concerned about the future of education.
AI can now research, write, and problem-solve better than most people.
Maybe it's time schools focused more on what AI can't replicate — emotional intelligence, empathy, and ethics.
Some forward-thinking classrooms are already treating prompting as a new kind of literacy.
And in the workforce, “AI prompt skills” are starting to show up in job listings — a clear sign of where things are going.
Yes, prompting is the “Love Language” of AI.
It’s how we connect, create, argue, and collaborate with these tools.
The better we speak it, the deeper our AI relationships deepen.
This Isn’t a Zero-Sum World Anymore.
We live in an age of limitless tools, ideas, and opportunity.
The people who know how to make stuff happen via this insane tools will rise above the rest who dont five a f**k about it.
So here’s the takeaway:
Learn to prompt like a pro — and you’ll open doors no degree ever could.
That's it for this letter.
