How to Generate Leads in 2025 Like Crazy (Stop chasing ants instead of laying sugar water.)

Simple Steps to lead Generation 2025

“Attraction is not a choice; it's a result.” — David DeAngelo

Lead generation is for everyone.

Whether you’re a business owner, content creator, freelancer, or just trying to turn your passion project into something bigger, at some stage, you’ll need people. And not just any people—you’ll need the right ones.

That’s what we call "leads," in case you don't quite get it.

Now, don’t roll your eyes and say, “But I’m not into business; why should I care about lead generation?”

Because you are in business.

Life is the ultimate business.

Jesus said, “Do business till I come” (Luke 19:13), and unless you’re planning to argue with divine economics, you’re in the game. That’s why you need to figure out how to generate leads like it’s second nature.

What Is Lead Generation, Really?

Back when I first heard the term “lead generation,” I was clueless.

It just sounded like another jargon buzzword.

But here’s the real deal: Lead generation involves attracting people interested in your activities and giving them a good reason to stay engaged. Tada!

If you’ve ever tried building a YouTube channel, an e-commerce store like I did here, or even just a digital tool, and no one noticed, then you’ve already felt the need for leads.

Building it isn't enough; people need to see it. If nobody recognises it, you've essentially created a ghost town in the making.

My Wake-Up Call: The Sugar Water Analogy

Imagine you’ve got sweet sugar water, and all you need is to get it in front of the ants.

You don’t beg ants to come—they find it naturally because it’s sweet. That’s how lead generation works.

Back in 2020 or so, I was deeply in the e-commerce world and tried a million things. Failed a million times.

Restarted.

Failed again.

It hit me: my issue wasn't a lack of leads, but a “sugar water” problem. I then revisited my approach and started over.

How I Built a 50K+ Community Without Being a “Guru”

I started building niche online communities—33 Meta groups to be exact—in under a year.

At first, it was a mauseoleum.

Dead silence.

I questioned myself. But I stayed consistent.

One day, God himself came to my rescue, and boom, people started joining the communities.

Then, 500+ requests in a morning.

I felt like I had made it.

I felt like I had cracked the code of community building.

Having people cluster together in a cohort isn’t just a vanity metric anymore—it’s a powerful signal and an opportunity to serve them better.

Deep down, I always knew this, and it was reinforced by Seth Godin’s words:

"Don’t find customers for your products; find products for your customers."

You see, when you gather folks around a shared interest or mission, you create momentum. That kind of momentum is the fuel for:

Launching products

Testing ideas or channelling traffic

Sparking conversations

Creating user-generated content

Generating leads on autopilot

Think about it—community is the modern-day currency.

And once you get people engaged in one space, the possibilities multiply.

Now this is the move that moved the mountain.

This entire letter exists because I asked one brutally simple question—the same question I’ll soon reveal and the one that changed everything.

It came after I’d gathered over 1,000 people, a number I believed was enough to establish real social proof.

Each new member added weight to the question. And with every wave of growth, leads flowed in—effortless, unforced, undeniable.

Here is the almighty question that triumphed after about a year of trial and error.

“Hey folks, would you like to know how we built this community?”

If yes, kindly pop in your email address, and we’ll send it directly to you via Destiny.

Simple question.

Massive response.

Today's Strategy: Lead Generation in 2025

Like seriously. The stuff that worked a couple of years back just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Blame the algorithm changes, but what hasn't changed is human nature.

Day and night.

Winter and summer. You name them...

Nonetheless, if you're looking for practical tips and tactics, the dos and don'ts that actually work in 2025, I strongly recommend you read the META COMMUNITY BUILDING 101 (The Game Changing Tweak).

That material is a bomb.

 I wrote it with power.

Once you've gotten the key insights, lock them in—then apply the expertise to your own benefit.

As I write this, over 9,997 people have used these exact strategies and are actively testifying to the power of this solution-focused methodology.

And I’ll be honest, knowing that people are genuinely benefiting from it gives me a quiet sense of satisfaction.

We don't need too much to be happy or satisfied. Happiness is a state of mind.

No doubt, algorithms are giving us attitude, platforms change rules overnight for reasons best known to them, and attention spans are microscopic. No worries.

You’ve only got to do better these days.

Here’s what works as I write this mindf*cked:

1. Continue to Solve a Real-World Problem (Even If It’s Minimal)

People will only give up their email—or their time—if you offer a clear promise to relieve their pain.

Humans are inherently lazy, and you know that.

If you solve a problem they actually have, they’ll listen or pay for shortcuts.

And if you can’t figure out what pain to solve—like this person asked me here—I’d suggest starting with your own.

We all go through pain, especially as adults. Even as I write this, I’m feeling a bit of back pain, which is a reminder to stand up and take a walk.

Sometimes it just takes one small moment to spark something big. Maybe you’ll end up becoming a fitness coach, helping people get stronger and feel better.

I just responded to a post on Medium that might do the same for someone else. Take a look.

Solve a problem in all of these sectors. Health. Wealth. Financial. Relationship

2. Document, Don’t Sell

You don’t have to be a guru.

Gone are the days of the guru.

Just share your journey—what you did, are doing, how you did it, what worked, and what flopped. The right people will relate.

You see, if I were to share all my failures in e-commerce, I’d probably attract a massive following of people who’ve failed too.

We could call it the “E-Comm Failures Converge”—and trust me, it would resonate.

It's not always about sharing wins.

Sometimes, the losses are the most relatable part of the journey.

Failure is a commodity too—one that builds trust, connection, and authenticity.

3. Build Digital Real Estate

Email has always been king, and nothing’s dethroning it anytime soon.

Own your traffic.

Don’t just depend on YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram or any other means whatsoever for your work to be seen; otherwise, you've relinquished total control.

Funnel followers or members into a space you control and lock them in.

4. Ask Smart Questions

I used to hate asking questions.

Back in high school and even during my days at RMIT, I preferred quietly bubbling in answers rather than raising my hand to join any conversation.

Maybe it stemmed from my upbringing, but either way, we grew up in a world where asking questions wasn’t encouraged.

Thankfully, the rise of prompt engineering is helping us hone that skill.

As I mentioned earlier, my lead spike began the moment I asked our community a simple question: "Would you like to know how we built this community?"

You see, if I hadn't pushed creativity to ask those game-changing questions, none of this momentum would exist. The domino effect starts with that first bold enquiry.

5. Focus on Community Over Virality

All civilisation boils down to this truth: We construct our communities, then our communities reconstruct us. The circle is unbroken.

Everyone wants to go viral, ha. So, they become trapped in the content echo chamber.

Few want to build a loyal community.

If you cluster just 50 engaged people, social proof takes over.

That’s how Shopify AustraliaShopify USA, and e-comm collectiveThese are just a few examples that really blew up for me.

Now, for real, here’s the secret summary to generating a lead magnet like crazy in 2025.

If you want to generate leads like crazy:

Create a freemium (not just a generic lead magnet) that solves a rare or personal problem

Use strong community rules and enforce them

Channel all your content into a central platform (like email or a community)

Stay consistent—even when no one is watching, the algorithm is

Document everything.

Don’t wait to be perfect to begin documenting your journey online.

To this end, don’t overthink the tech.

Whether it’s Facebook, Instagram, Medium, or Substack, just start.

Direct people to places where you can connect with them personally.

I’m not here to act like a guru or sell you anything.

I’m simply documenting my messy journey for my future self.

If you’ve made it this far, congratulations, mate—you’ve already shown you have what it takes.

Begin by solving small problems.
