How to Start a Shopify Store in 2025: A Beginner's Friendly Guide (Series 1)
How to Start a Shopify Store in 2025: A Beginner's Friendly Guide (Series 1)
(A quote often applied to the power of Shopify automation tools like flows, apps, and smart integrations.)
As you go through this letter, may peace gently wrap itself around you.
If you're in winter like we are right now in Australia, grab the doona you deserve, the Snuggle Doona. Life’s too short to settle for uncomfortable bedding.
Our offering goes beyond seasonal warmth.
We all appreciate quality. That’s why this doona is designed for year-round comfort and crafted with care right here in downtown Victoria.
Proudly made, thoughtfully designed.
We believe in our product so strongly that we offer a simple promise — try it for yourself. If you don’t love it, we’ll give you your money back. No questions asked.
By the way, the store description and the link you just explored are part of our Shopify brand, Snuggleready, so keep that in mind as you read on.
I built Snuggleready because I genuinely love the comfort of slowing down and snuggling up in bed. I love being lazy.
In that same spirit, I created this accessory out of pure frustration. I was tired of my devices constantly falling and getting dented when all I needed was a stable stand to go hands-free, especially as a creator. So, I revamped it and called it Snuggle. Simple.
Check it out on eBay here.
It’s perfect for iPads, too.
With proper care, we built it to last. It also makes an ideal gift for anyone who owns a mobile device. We all own one. It’s part of modern life.
This is one of those products whose value isn’t loud at all, but when the moment comes, it delivers. Its usefulness reveals itself quietly in the middle of everyday life. Reflecting our core philosophy: Fix what frustrates you, then pass on the fix. That’s how real impact begins...
Easy as.
However, this letter is not based on wishful thinking.
This letter is grounded in real-world, battle-tested experience — something you can apply and benefit from immediately, if approached with the right strategy.
That being said, let’s get started.
This first series is your practical blueprint. Inside you'll find all the tools, strategies and actionable steps needed to finally create what's been brewing in your imagination.
Your attention here convinces me a heap. What you're feeling isn't curiosity - it's actualisation. The universe is signalling your readiness to ascend, to create true abundance, and to command the version of yourself that exists beyond imagined limits. Via this amount of perceived curiosity and experimentation, I pray your wishes come to pass. Amen!
...Perhaps you feel drawn to champion the Good Life philosophy that’s inspiring forward thinkers across our platforms on Medium and Substack.

By the way, I don’t write so others can judge the value of my thoughts. And it’s definitely not to monetise my words overnight — as tempting as that sounds, hell no!
I write to capture thoughts that would otherwise fade.
I write so I don’t forget what I’ve learned or done. Typing it out feels like teaching in a real classroom.
Now I get the saying: the teacher learns more than the student.
Sometimes, it’s only after I hit publish that the knowledge starts teaching me back. Not sure if you’ve felt that yourself, but trust me, it’s real as hell.
It’s a strange but powerful cycle.
It’s kind of like "chewing the cud" in the kingdom of cows, if you catch my drift.
But I won’t digress too far.
Let’s get back to the point.
Like seriously, the benefits of writing cannot be overstated.
And best of all, whenever I finish a long letter like this, it leaves me with the same rush as lifting a trophy.
And I know I did. It’s truly therapeutic. Try it out and see for yourself.
Writing in e-commerce instantly makes you an educational entrepreneur, a double-edged sword.
Now, for real, Shopify as an e-commerce platform makes the journey way easier than you’d imagine, even if you’ve never sold anything online before.
Best of all, you’ll pick up skills that will blow your mind — skills that cut across every area of life and any venture you take on.
This letter isn’t some academic bull crap. It’s raw and real. This is me walking the talk.
So if you spot any errors, don’t worry about it. Just ride on, baby!
The knowledge here could even help support people with developmental disorders, since there’s no barrier to entry.
I’ll keep this letter simple and straight to the point. By the time you finish reading and absorbing these tips, you’ll be ready to launch your store and start running immediately.
Shopify is one of those platforms I actually miss when I haven’t jumped on the dashboard for a day or two. A launchpad for entrepreneurs, a powerhouse for affiliate marketers (like I did at TrekWiser.com), and a creative playground where any digital vision, no matter how bold, becomes a buildable reality.
In this guideline (Series 1), I’ll Walk you through exactly how to sign up, launch a Shopify store in 2025, sidestep costly beginner mistakes, and unlock money-saving hacks I’ve mastered firsthand.
Series Two goes further and dives deeper. You’ll discover how to leverage top-quality, competing apps within Shopify’s ecosystem to gain an edge, all at zero cost.

Treat every series as a master stroke.
I’ve poured my deepest knowledge into these guides, which is why they’re priced accordingly on the marketplaces. Think of it as a complete e-commerce portfolio — everything put together, for those who prefer it done for them while they stay focused on their day-to-day life.
Like I said, it’s more than a course. It’s a living project.
The insights here have the power to challenge your thinking, nudging you to pivot when needed, just like I did in my other trending letter, How to Start an Amazon Store in 2025: A Simple 10-Step Guide. They may even demand your full commitment in the pursuit.
If you’re in a fulfilling 9-5 grind and just exploring e-commerce for fun, good on you. Nonetheless, if you’re ready to leave any soul-crushing grind behind, this is your blueprint to unf*cking your life.
I suggest that you wholeheartedly implement what you learn, and you’ll hit the ground running.
This program, once more, is priced under $1,000, but the knowledge you'll gain is worth seven figures.
The best part is that you'll be operational in less than 72 hours. Monetise the knowledge as soon as practically possible.

Now, let's get back into it.
What is Shopify—and Why Should You Care?
The last time I checked, Shopify has evolved far beyond my imagination.
We can also regard the e-commerce giant as the Pentagon of digital selling. A sophisticated apparatus in the gigantic world of e-commerce.
A complete business command centre.
When I say 'command centre,' I mean full-spectrum dominance over payments processing, logistics, customer conquest, et cetera.
Image 1
You see, the manoeuvring process might feel slow at first. But believe me, the rewards are well worth the effort.
In fact, the process of designing, calculating, and problem-solving was part of the fun.
If you can bring buyers to your brand or whatever you’re selling, Shopify takes care of the rest. From checkout to delivery, it simplifies the entire process.
Let me tell you a true story: last week, during a street pop-up, a customer asked, 'Do you take payments on cards?' I grinned, whipped out my Shopify card reader, and boom—instant sale. The dude was genuinely surprised that I had that in me, especially at that time.
No bulky POS, no lost sales. Just my phone and this tiny and handy powerhouse tool.
That's the magic of mobile commerce in 2025. Every payment gateway literally has this — Stripe, PayPal, Payoneer, and maybe Wise, though I’m not quite sure about Wise.
Your phone can do this too. Someone can tap their card on your phone, and just like that, you’ve got paid. If you take the time to set everything up properly, you’ll never miss a sale. I wouldn’t want to reveal some of the info in my paid project, so Iet me shut the f*ck up.
Look, my friend, what’s in my paid project is like a gold nugget. And you know, buyers of gold have a ton on their minds before they decide to purchase. They might order gold nuggets to resell for profit, for fashion, as a store of value, or maybe even as real money.
As a beginner, why spend money on bulky systems when your smartphone has all the essentials? We frequently overlook the true power of our mobile devices.
With Shopify POS, you can process payments anywhere and via your mobile phone for card payments, giving you the freedom to sell online or in person with ease. And at any point in time.
And as your business grows, Shopify scales with you. No technical roadblocks. No worries at all. I love Shopify.
Now, I understand that the AUD 56 monthly fee might feel like a big commitment, especially if you’re just starting out in Australia. I’ve been there.
Back in 2020, fresh out of the COVID storm, I was juggling work, study, and the early days of my Shopify experiment.
Keeping up with the monthly billing was brutally tough. But I stayed with it. And I’m glad I did.
Once you get past those early hurdles, you’ll realise you’re building something real — something that lasts. Something deeply fulfilling. And sometimes, it’s something you can pass down to the next generation. But if you don’t build it, it simply won’t get built.
Thankfully, I’ve got the solution to that nagging problem at hand.
Not to discourage you, but to keep you focused and forward-looking, I’ve secured exclusive access to a workaround that changes everything.
I call it your golden ticket — the way to launch without the heavy upfront burden.

You Don’t Need to Be Techy
One reason Shopify works so well for beginners is its user-friendly, emotionally inviting dashboard. The image attached below captures exactly what I’m talking about.
Image 2
Even if you’re not tech-savvy, you’ll pick it up quickly.
Just start experimenting.
Play around with the settings.
You’ll improve naturally over time.
Our brain is wired to survive.
Sure, you’ll mess up a few times, but as you probably know, obstacles are the way forward.
The key is to befriend failure before it befriends you.
Make room for failure instead of wasting energy fighting it.
Much like meditation and mindfulness, you begin by acknowledging each thought in the stillness of the moment.
This awareness can awaken the dormant energy at the base of your spine — known in many traditions as Kundalini — unlocking a deeper power within you.
Many tools can help you access this inner force. For example, try our Zen Meditation tool on Trekwiser, or explore the declassified mental training materials once released by the CIA, known as the CIA Gateway Report.
This is not actually for the purpose of this letter, but everything worketh together for our overall good.
As a starter, aim to strike a balance and avoid burnout. Do not try to make everything perfect from day one. Even if you spot a typo on your landing page later, let it go.
Bed head, get some rest, and remind yourself — you’ll fix it tomorrow. No stress. Progress over perfection.
Where you start won’t be where you finish.
So, relax, or chillax, if that counts as a real word.
You’ll likely start over more than once before you find your rhythm, and that’s more than okay.
Launch ugly. Learn fast. Improve often.
Don't Waste Time Looking for the “Perfect Niche or logo”
This is where most people get stuck: “What should I sell or what a perfect logo should look like?”
You don’t need to start with a product if you don't want to.
Start with a problem on your mind, preferably one you've personally experienced and build a solution around that. Just like I did and am still doing.
Each quarter, I try to build something new. I test a bunch of ideas, and tech makes it super doable. If I can speak with this much confidence, so can you. Not long ago, I absolutely hated tech — couldn’t stand it. But now, Tech’s my friend.
Funny how things change.
If you’re a writer, write to your past, present or future self.
If you're selling a product or service, sell something that solves your own problem, then distribute the solution. That’s where the real magic is. The real business is "YOU into the Business!"
When I launched Community Building 101, it wasn’t just a service I brought to the table. It was the solution to a problem I faced personally, and that authenticity led to real results that we're savouring today.
Attracting over 50,00 folks across all our communities of the entrepreneurs' cult.
Shopify: Your Launchpad, Toolbox, and Growth Engine Combined
What makes Shopify truly remarkable is its universal adaptability.
Its functionality includes, though is not limited to:
Physical product sales (from handmade crafts to large-scale retail)
Service-based offerings (consulting, coaching, or professional services)
Digital products (e-books, courses, software, and templates)
Hybrid business models (combining any of the above)
Shopify’s built-in payment system is one of the reasons the standard subscription costs $56/month, but as a beginner, you’ll be pleased to know you can waive that fee entirely; it feels like you're having an online store for free.
Too good to be true, right?! Yeah.
That’s exactly why I created this guide. 👉 How to Build a Professional Website for Only $9.95 Using Shopify.
With this newfound knowledge and proper implementation, your monthly cost can drop to just $13, giving you full access to experiment in peace without the extra overhead.
Once you learn this, lock it in and turn it into a lead magnet for those coming after you. Learn to package or re-package every piece of rare knowledge or hard-earned experience into something valuable and lecture it to others for a fee or for free.
That’s how you build trust, grow your influence, and create real impact.
I don't care whether anyone purchases my products or services. I'm still that, that I am.
My goal is to document my entrepreneurial journey, every step along the way. It's all worth the effort, I believe.
I recommend you try this rare solution yourself.
You might be the next to share your results.
It’s worth exploring, especially if you're looking to save on cost.
The next one on our list could be even better:
Marketing tools
Analytics and insights
App integrations for nearly everything
Need to restrict access to non-18+ visitors?
There’s an app for that.
Just install it, head over to the embed section, toggle it on, refresh the page and boom, it’s live on the front end.
Doing dropshipping?
Plug in a supplier app and you’re ready to go. Amazon, Facebook, eBay, and others are just a few examples of plugins with seamless integrations.
Best of all, AI is now deeply integrated.
You can preview products in 3D, generate product descriptions, and even run automated customer support. Hallelujah!!
Customisable Themes Matter (Trust Me)
You might not realise it, but the look and feel of your store matters more than you think.
A clean, intuitive design isn't just about the aesthetics anymore; it shapes how people feel when they hop on your page.
In my writing, I prefer a dark background with white text, similar to the style used on Snugle Times, as shown in the attached image.
Image 3I find that white text on a dark background creates a calming effect and adds a touch of professionalism, even evoking a sense of nostalgia, when the writing feels like a casual chat with a friend over lunch or coffee. From what I’ve seen, the analytics still look promising.
Therefore, first impressions count.
And if you want to come across as professional and trustworthy from the get-go, investing in a premium theme is a smart move and a one-time investment.
And the beautiful thing is that it gets your two feet on the ground. You get to the point of no return.
Your eyes may open widely, you'll begin to take things more seriously, and that is where you may find some of my paid projects more serious. You see, that's what I mean.
I personally dropped over AUD 450 on my current Shopify theme, and honestly, I’d do it again without hesitation if the need be.
Speaking of which, I’m currently working on a new project, but I’ll keep that under wraps for now until it’s ready.
Develop the habit of building things. It's fun. It's satisfying. It's human.
Regarding your investment in Shopify themes, the improved responsiveness, enhanced UX flow, and uptick in conversion metrics — it's no exaggeration.
The performance increase is significant. I suggest you excel by making that initial lump sum investment in your digital storefront.
Now, I know a lot of people say, “Just launch and fix it later.”
The big issue is, if you can start with a bit of excellence, why wouldn’t you?
Your early reviews set the tone for how fast you scale.
Shopify Hacks to Save You $$$ (Legally)
Here’s where it gets fun.
If you're keen to save hundreds on apps and tools?
Here’s what I do:
Use the free tier of apps wherever possible.
Test different apps that do the same thing. Many offer similar features for free.
Think it through and choose wisely.
As a beginner, the interface might feel overwhelming at first, but that’s just the initial friction. Click around and explore.
Image 4If something requires support, don’t hesitate to reach out to the support team. That’s what they’re there for. It'll be worth the time.
Bundle apps with standalone features.
Get your landing page tool from one app, your FAQ builder from another, et cetera. However, be sure to be mindful of your store's load times, speed and other considerable features.
For instance, I use PageFly to build my landing page and a separate app for my cookie banner.
You can apply a similar strategy, mix and match tools to optimise performance and manage costs efficiently.
A heap of them are free for the basic version and do the job beautifully.
Most apps offer 14–30 day trials, so set a timer (seriously) and track your renewals. Missing a trial period could cost you up to $99/month. Don’t let anything demoralise your morale in this journey.
I manage my entire Shopify store for just $13 a month instead of over $99, and I still collect payments like a pro. That’s the power of being resourceful and finding clever alternatives. (Check out the course)
Document Everything
You’re not just building a store. You're building a ladder.
You’re building experience, expertise, and possibly a personal brand.
Document your process. Share what you’re learning.
By the time 18 months rolls around, you’ll not only have a profitable business, you’ll also have content, credibility, and maybe even a course or community of your own.
And as you probably know by now, once you’ve built all four foundational traits, you’ll always have a business. It’s the kind of content that reinforces a powerful idea: you are the niche.
It's not just about services or solutions anymore. It's about showing up as yourself. People don’t just buy what you do; they buy into who you are.
Hence, be good. Be yourself.
Pick beautiful things that will improve your spatial intelligence.
Have a premium taste for everything on God’s green earth—you never know what you might fix next.
I was watching a YouTube video where a man was asked how he got into the e-cigarette business.
He said one day a guy walked by and blew out a cloud of vapour that smelled so good it caught his attention.
That moment sparked his curiosity. He then improved the formula by reducing the harmful effects—at least according to him—and the rest is history. Now, he’s a multi-millionaire. This breakthrough came after testing a few ideas.
You see, everything connects.
Inspiration comes from the most unexpected places.
So, pin better flags wherever you go.
Smell good because it boosts your confidence.
Eat clean and wear quality clothing.
Look up.
Look BIG, act small.
Sell yourself to yourself.
Will you buy or pay attention?
Perhaps, a story for the gods.
These are just a few simple ways to live the "Good life".
